“Hey where are you guys?”
I’m roused from my sleep by him calling for any of his friends outside my window. “It’s me, Woo Ti Hoo!”
I call back through that same window, still closed. “Woo woo woo, woo woo wa Hoo!
More urgent now that he knows I’m here. “Come on out! I can’t see you, but I know you’re in there!”
I get the idea to record him on my “Galaxy S4″, so I can post it to my blog. So I get out of bed without turning on the light so I don’t blind him and scare him away, and stumble out to the kitchen where I have the thing charging and stumble back.
I try to quietly open the window but the d*****d blinds crackle.
He’s a little further away now, still calling. “I know you’re out there somewhere!”
I swipe the touchscreen to turn the thing on.
D**n! The blue-white light from the display seems brilliant in the darkness.
I click on the icon for “apps”. I’ve only used the recorder once before so I can’t remember where the app is! I frantically swipe through the screens until I finally locate “Voice Recorder” and hit the “Record” button. Woo Ti Hoo is much further away now.“I’m here Woo Ti Hoo!”
But, he has heard his friends at Indian Camp Creek, and flown there to join them. I hit the playback button to see if there is anything I can use.
Faintly, I can barely hear him cackle once and then say, “Dude, you gotta be quicker than that!”
